The Pessimists Archive™ bookmark features a newspaper clipping from a 1913 issue of The Boston Globe, the peice asks a popular question at the time: is novel reading an afflication. Like screen use today, consuming written fiction was seen as a compulsive waste of time that planted bad ideas in the minds of the young.
